Tranquilatwist is a band from Rochester, NY that expands on the groundwork laid by projects such as Portishead, Curve and Splashdown.

Tranquilatwist keeps their sound fresh with complex arrangements incorporating programmed electronics, live instrumentation and female lead vocals that are soulful and haunting.

The project consists of 3 core members along with several additional contributors.

Karlie Cary Lanni takes the front position with lead vocals inspired by the likes of Elizabeth Fraser and Beth Gibbons. Her melodies, lyrics and delivery engage the audience with honest intimacy.

Anthony Lanni brings over 10 years of programming, mixing and producing to the project. Anthony lays the backbone down for most tracks, engineers the live takes and develops the arrangements.

David Michael performs a variety of live instrumentation on the recordings. David brings a diverse musical background and has over 25 years experience playing guitar, bass, drums and trumpet.

Tranquilatwist’s debut record was produced by Bernard Matthews. With over 20 years of experience recording, producing, and mixing in some of Los Angeles’ top studios, Bernie has worked with some of the top musicians in the world.

Makes me shizzle, which means I like it a lot. But still, you have something to get better on. As JackStormcrow said, there is something going on with collapse. In my case, it sounds too PUSHED in some points, like you didn't relax enough with the work. Too much of something. But still, I like it, and I will give hearts to downhill & Bruise My Soul for being some awesomeness. :)

Awesome. Chillin. Congrats on actually producing something, so many of us want to but dont. Nice rich voice. Pat Benatar and Quaterflash (in a good way). Super sensuous photos. You belong here in Portland. On collapse, I'd try to tweak the mixing. The vocal and guitar sound too up front. Add some strings where the marimbas are. Add a monkey eating cake, everybody likes monkeys and cake. Just my humble.... Bruise is closer to perfect. The drum track sounds muffled a little. And needs mixing help that I cant put my finger on. You are really close!
