Biography

The Second Hand Marching Band is a band of 16ish people from Glasgow and Edinburgh and thereabouts who play untraditional big band folk music with brass, woodwind, guitars, mandolins, ukuleles and accordions.

Over the many members to pass through the ranks we have had members of such bands as Eagleowl, The John Knox Sex Club, The Tannahill Collective, The Just Joans, Dananananaykroyd, How To Swim, Q Without U,Benni Hemm Hemm, The Lula Maes, The Martial Arts, Wall Street Ammunition Hero, Freight Logistics,Two Wings,The Trembling Bells and the belle hops.

SHMB formed in the autumn of 2007 and have recorded 2 EPs. The put the EPs plus radio sessions and demos onto a compilation CD after the CDs sold out.

They are slowly piecing together a set of three albums. One happy, one sad, and one half-icelandic (with Benni Hemm Hemm).
