There are three bands with this name:
1. the pillows, A popular alternative rock band from Northern Japan
2. The Pillows, An alternative rock band from Slovakia
3. Pillows, A punk duo from Oakland, California
1. the pillows are an alternative rock band from Hokkaidō, Japan, best known outside Japan for their contributions to the soundtrack of the anime series Fooly Cooly (FLCL). They consist of Sawao Yamanaka (vocals, guitar), Yoshiaki Manabe (guitar) and Shinichiro Sato (drums)
The band officially formed on September 16, 1989 as a four-man group. The fourth man and original bassist, Kenji Ueda, left the band in 1992 to become a music producer and do solo work. Since then, Tatsuya Kashima and later Jun Suzuki have taken his place as supporting bassists. Neither Kashima nor Suzuki have been named official members out of respect for Ueda.
The band name is intentionally left without any capitalization.
2. An alternative rock band The Pillows from High Tatras, Slovakia.
3. pillows
Current band members: Julia Shirar and Jessica Cowley.

“Whereas two-piece bands and girl bands are usually perceived as having some sort of schtick, the fact that Pillows is a female duo is completely irrelevant. These lovely ladies from Oakland play bare-bones melodies, and the vocals are simultaneously joyous and melancholy. Just when you get all cozied up in your own pillow start to drift into dream land, they kick up the tempo with post-punky, gritty, revved-up electric distortion, slipping in and out of genre counterparts with the greatest of ease.
