The music of the Fawns is lovingly crafted from elegant simplicity; the songs of Lesa Bezo sometimes settle into a musical armchair we’ll call “twanglepop”, with an essence of a gentle 1950s country-rock amble married to sweetly poignant and honest ruminations on romance. But more often than not , these days, it’s power poptastic hooks that the Fawns deliver.
Aromas of shimmering reverbed guitars, spunky new wave flavors and boy/girl pop-bounce all blend into the mix.

Members of The Fawns have collaborated with and/or recorded with such luminaries as Mark Mulcahy (Miracle Legion), Chris Collingwood (Fountains of Wayne), Lloyd Cole, Joe Pernice (Scud Mountains Boys, The Pernice Brothers) and Pedro the Lion.

Members of The Fawns have shared the stage with: Juliana Hatfield, Evan Dando, Robyn Hitchcock, Freedy Johnston, Fountains of Wayne, Essex Green, Mates of State, Martin Sexton, Ivy, Of Montreal, and J. Mascis among others.

There is also a little known but not forgotten 1960’s Philadelphia girl-group called the Fawns that recorded for the Cap City record label. Notable tracks include - “Nothing But Love Can Save Me” and the previously unissued classic of the genre “I’ve Got A Crush On Teacher”.

I had the privilege to see The Fawns play live in Amherst MA on the town commons in 2007. These people deserve a lot more exposure!
