Born Roger Fitzgerald, Kenrick Spencer in the sunny caribbean isle of Trinidad and Tobago, Szpencer later on moved to London. His career started as a theatre actor which led to, TV commercials and some independent films, He then moved into the Television producer role. But his passion for music just kept calling him. He later quit his well paid nine to five job then joined a funk band called SECRETZ, performing in venues in and around London.

Due to favorable circumstances, Szpencer relocated to Amsterdam, performing at venues and lending his vocals on records for a number of artists including, his favorite the 2mentall project. Having only been two months in Holland, and not satisfied with just singing other peoples material, Szpencer decided to take matters into his hands, he scoured the streets and the internet to find the right group of musicians to work with, on his debut album.

“I would literally meet people on the streets and if they looked like a singer or musician I then approached them, sometimes they were and some times they weren’t, of course they all thought I was a raving mad man, but hey I eventually found what I was looking for”.

Now locked away and busy in his bedroom project studio, “It’s not much but I am not going to wait till good fortune decides to elevate me to Abbey Road Studios status”, Szpencer’s aim is to fuse hip hop, R&B funk, soul, and pop, in an attempt to create something new. “Of course there’s probably not much new about it, so my main focus is on the lyrical content”.
