Biography

MY MUSIC - MY JOURNEY

In 1987 I started writing songs, poetry and then short stories. I found that it was such a great way of expressing myself in my life. My song writing is really autobiographical in many ways, I write about what I have seen or been through. I also inject some humour and fantasy in my music, to me that’s important in life. That same year in 1987 I then discovered the cool sounds of Hip Hop music coming from the pirate radio stations. I was really taken back with the new fresh sound, attitude, the movement, also with the catchy song lyrics. I said to myself I want to get involved with this new movement and learn to Rap too. There was allot inside of me I had to get out, the microphone offered me a release from my everyday pressures of growing up, and me learning about real life. I started to learn to Rap, then Beat Box. I would write down song lyrics and verses all the time in my notebook. I bought hundreds of cool instrumental tracks with wicked beats, so I could Rap over the top of them to practice and keep my flow real tight, and then Soundwave Resistance was born. In 1991 my friends asked me to join there Hip Hop crew from our school. In 1992 I joined Two Funk Entertainment a live R&B band as the main Rap artist. We performed and played across London for four years. I enjoyed the live sound and band experience, I learned allot and had allot of fun being on the road with my friends and fellow artists.

I agree, nice tunes. For me, a little more roughness wouldn't hurt. But still: respect!
