The band Roadhouse ( had existed in mid 90’s in the Czech Republic. Established in 1994 by Peter Beck, a Canadian lyricist, and Ondrej Rudolf, a local songwriter, Roadhouse’s main role was to create a set of soft-rock songs for a special theatre play, a musical, called Roadhouse Blues. As such, the musical was played several times in the Chamber Theatre in Pilsen, Czech Republic. But as a consequence, the band got a brilliant opportunity to record thier first album (Storm Warning, 1994).

Roadhouse became locally famous and since their music was well composed and arranged (most of the times also played) and their lyrics were of much higher quality compared to their rivals in those times, they gained a decent audience in Prague, where newly open rock clubs offered boiling rocking atmosphere.

In 1995, Roadhouse appeared in the final rounds of both the New Rock Generation and Marlboro Rock-In nationwide talent contests. This brought attention of major music media and also the chance to get financing for a proper recording. Although none of the major labels wanted to sign an English-singing act, the group recorded and released their second album themselves. Recorded in the best Czech studios of that time, all the hopes remained with the work This Is What We Do (1995).

Unfortunately, the situation of emerging dance scene occupying rock clubs one after another and raise of commercial radio stations caused fall of interest in the band at the important places. Roadhouse remained a club band.
