Biography

rist is the eclectic electro-acoustic folktronica female duo of a German and a Japanese based primarily in Germany who, individually, has collaborated with various musicians and artistes as studio sessionists before coming together as an entity.

The name “rist” comes from the playful fact that they like its phonetic sound, as in “tou-rist” or “guitar-rist”, and so they’d like to think they are “two-rist”.
