RDunlap (also known as Richard Dunlap, but not the same Richard Dunlap who recorded the album ‘Ode to the Sistrum’) is an independent experimental composer/improviser/remixer. He began recording in 1985 as an outsider to both academic and commercial mainstreams and remained unknown to the public until about 2003 when he began releasing his recordings via the internet. Aside from his solo work, RDunlap also releases recordings under the name dadala which is a collage and remix project featuring his own material from over the years along with material contributed by a wide variety of unconventional artists. He is also part of PcOnTrApTiOn, an experimental but accessible electronic collaboration with Jopy. RDunlap’s music is informed by the influences of jazz, avant-garde, ambient, world music and progressive rock.
