Pupa ピューパ are a 6-piece band formed in the summer of 2007, under the vision of Yukihiro Takahashi to start a new project. The members are: Yukihiro Takahashi, Tomoyo Harada, Hiroshi Takano, Ren Takada, Hirohisa Horie, and Tomohiko Gondo. The debut album ‘floating pupa’ is set to be released on July 2nd. The name of the band is inspired by a kind of artificial fly for fly fishing, as Yukihiro has been an ardent fly-fisher.

'Pupa' doesn`t mean ass in polish. 'Pupa' means bottom (yeah, this part of body). It`s basic, neutral and subtle word. 'Dupa' or 'tyłek' is for ass. [2]
