All post-rock bands sound the same, just as all metal bands sound the same, just as all rap sounds the same, just as etc., etc, etc... Bands of a genre have similar sounds with subtle nuances. Its why people hold to particular genres. I'm a firm believer that music is meant to be felt, not simply heard. I find that to be true with post-rock more than anything else. It's possible to lose oneself in the simplicities and find oneself in the complexities. At face value, the music can seem simple, but the multitudes of beauty crash in like waves once lost in the depth it has to offer. When these bands end up sounding similar, further through the firmament we go. But that's just my humble opinion...
