Musically speaking, this band has been described as “the illegitimate offspring of Faith No More, Incubus and Dog Fashion Disco.”
BIOGRAPHY
Opposite Box formed in 2001 in the small border city of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. After various lineup changes and stylistic manipulations, the group moved its base of operations into Downtown Chattanooga, TN.
In 2009, Opposite Box shared the stage with several of the country’s biggest up-and-coming acts, such as the quirky… , comedy funk band Downtown Brown from Detroit, the insano-aquatic group Shrimp! from Long Beach and The Carry-ons, Heartcake Party and Courtesty Murder - three of the biggest bands from the Atlanta area.
OB also supported local Chattanooga bands RaBiDeArS and Downstream at their respective CD release shows, as well as participating in both Nashville’s Localpalooza festival and Chattanooga’s own Sweetwater 420 Festival.
Recently, the punky-funky metal band won the Muddy Bottom Promotions Battlecreek Battle of the Bands, headlined the infamous Road Rash Biker Bash at Martin Springs Farm, performed at the third annual Chattanooga Tattoo Arts Festival at the Chattanooga Choo Choo and opened for superstar hip-hop group Nappy Roots in late August.
Future plans for the group include various “we need a van” fund raising shows, a small mini-tour around the south east and production of a full length album at the famed Muscle Shoals Studio in Muscle Shoals, Al.
