Davide Cecchi was born in Pisa in 1984. He has always been interested in music, since he was a child. His first encounter with music has been his father’s piano playing and pop music like Queen or Micheal Jackson. He began playing drums at the age of 10-12 without any teacher, listening rock and pop, metal and progressive but also techno, trance, drum’n’bass. He began composing little melodies too, with Fast Tracker II and other tracking programs. Year after year, playing, then he finally finished high school. He wanted to know more, he wanted to study music. So, at the age of 19 he got deeper into it, choosing the guitar to explore musical theory and harmony. In 2005 he obtained the musical theory license at the Academy of Music “L. Boccherini” in Lucca, Tuscany and, in 2006, the lower Diploma of classical guitar at the Academy of Music “P. Mascagni” in Livorno, Tuscany, with a 9/10 mark.

His musical influences space between several genres and musical periods. He mostly listens to fusion and jazz music, today, talking about contemporary music. He loves film music, symphonic music and gregorian chant too.

“Discovery of music is something that never ends. Because of my studies, I’ve been exploring both ancient and modern music: liuto and guitar but also clavier. There are so much artists I listen/ed to and they influenced me so much… Different periods of life, experiences, studies, thoughs and discovering new material affects musical taste from time to time.”
