Biography

Electronic musician from Adelaide, Australia. Writes music purely for the joy of it. Style ranges from breakcore to space rock. Composes on synthesiser and computer, and plays guitar and bass as accompaniment. Earlier influences were ’90s death/black metal and prog rock. Later influences also encompassed psychedelic/space rock, IDM and breakcore. Heavy use of mellotrons in his work.

Had an interest in music since a child. Matt built strange devices from old tape recorders to make tape loops and other weird noises, often from the music of Rush. Accompanied by his sister, they delved deep into the abyss of bum and poo jokes. Later, learned the accoustic and electric guitar to impress girls at high school. At home, this new skill accompanied the tape recorder ‘experiments’.

Eventually came across FastTracker 2, adored it, and used it as much as possible. Was eventually disappointed with the limitations the software imposed, as excellent FastTracker 2 was for its time. Bugetary restrictions prohibited purchases beyond his Yamaha YS-200 and Samick Electric Guitar. With an electric guitar, bass, synth and computer, recorded a huge amount of fun stuff. Unfortunately, most of this is lost from hardware crashes and erased tapes.

From 2000 up, didn’t pursue music as intensely, instead focusing on other things. Rediscovered composition around 2008 and has gone mad making music.

mpamer can’t stop.
