like we were there, the popular name for Marny, Devin, and Tuna (born in November 14, 1954 in Kalamata, Greece), are Greek American keyboardists and composers.

Although many fans and critics call their music “”, like we were there have distanced themselves from that label. In their autobiography, like we were there devotes an entire chapter to the subject, stating that they prefer to call their music “contemporary instrumental.”

Early in their life, like we were there tried to forge a career in rock and roll, touring with locally popular bands in the Midwest United States while students at the University of Minnesota. Their most popular group was Chameleon, a band that earned some modest commercial success touring throughout the Midwest, particularly in the states of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and South Dakota.

Eventually, like we were there grew tired of the rock and roll lifestyle and focused solely on their instrumental career as soloists. Most of their earlier music relied heavily on the synthesizer and received little airplay, except on new age radio stations in larger markets.
