Biography
There are multiple artists with the name Kosmonaut:
1) A German Drum’n’Bass musician
2) A Canadian rock/indie band
3) A British band
4) A Norwegian jazz quartet
5) An American progressive electronic band
1)
The difference between nothing and something is primarily about structure. Stefan Mader has been fascinated by this thought all his life and it has inspired him to quite a bundle of creative experiments.
While as a programmer in the computer-demoscene he compresses algorithms to tiny digital artworks, as Kosmonaut he explores the depths of his own electromusical universe. The latter was created from the collision of numerous influences from gothic and metal to industrial and techo to atmospheric breaks and deep-house. From the stylistic elementary particles Komonaut constructs new musical molecules, which he then mounts into tracks between hypnotic dubstep and beaming drum’n’bass. Solid framework and clear-cut shapes are as predominant in the beats and basses as they are in the numerous melodical fragments.
2)
After a year of seclusion and a seemingly never ending stream of recording sessions, Kosmonaut is set to release their new self-titled full-length album in mid November. Recorded at four separate locations, spanning from Stoney Creek, Ontario all the way to Tyler, Texas, the album features a unique collection of ten songs that showcases the band’s versatile songwriting.
