johnny_ripper is the one man project of some french android, that basically involves a midi keyboard, a computer and the mind of the one behind it.
johnny_ripper doesn’t fall in a precise kind of music, it’s preferable to describe it as unique, with elements from many electronic genres.
there isn’t a year that defines the beginning of johnny_ripper, since it comes from many sources of inspiration from tapes to failed attemps at learning guitar, ambitions of playing bass to a love for drums and finally using music softwares on the computer to make something of it’s own.
the songs always come out as “beautiful accidents”, meaning nothing is planned, no clear agenda, no proper ideas, start with something and build the rest from it. because the android still lacks musical talent, it will never perform live, and because electronic shows mostly involve a dj spinning vinyls and putting his hands in the air, which shows no interest.
johnny_ripper once released an album called audio_exit, but deleted everything related to it because less than 20 people downloaded it, and too much samples were used, making most of the album composed by somebody else than the android, even garageband loops we’re used, which, makes it pretty bad.
