Iron Filings and Sellotape is a collective made up of persons unknown, centred around the concept of producing works of music, film and literature with exclusively found elements and obsolete technologies. Field recordings, tape noise, vinyl crackle, mixed in with processed loops, psychedelic melodic spirals, rumbling bass, lo-fi drum-sets, dialogue from historic recordings, and occasionally the voice of jamesreindeer, contributing lyrics penned through a most hallucinogenic filter of the geopolitical sphere.

“sword swallowing presidential motorcade. marilyn monroe in flames. iron bolts sealing the iron lung coffin. arcade geometry of the roof of the building. two suns, one reflecting from the ceiling. stood at the night bus stop with two horse abortionists. six by four portrait of ronald rayguns at the podium, toting u.f.o. artifacts and self-help slogans. black street floodlit with neon in the fog, or clear skies for satellites bleak observations. militia marching, raising coffins, arms and standards. tourists burn in slow blue fire.

series of polaroids expose the grim show unfolding. c.i.a. rat snitches on the commisar. see a black car, an empty sky and a raised hand. slow night on cable. screen just trades static for no signal, til live news appears, all skewed and broken. fifty dead and wounded in the marketplace. takeover deal. hazy beacon from the factory glowing. dead pale faced passengers parade thatcher death masks as silos blow cold colours into the sky. shallow graves or trenchlines. bulldozed commune. online shopping experience. period piece. death in sumatra.”
