Quite a shadowy figure within the realms of New Weird America and while comparisons become odious, Ahmed’s releases call to mind another spiritual adventurer: Ben Chasny (Six Organs of Admittance).
Ilyas Ahmed is a multi-instrumentalist born in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1974 raised in New Jersey, who has also been sighted in Vermont and Maine, Seattle, Portland and Minnesota.
His first, self-released albums were recorded on an isolated farm in Minnesota.
