I Am Not Lefthanded are a mostly-Irish three-piece alternative rock band currently based in London. Kathryn (vocals, guitar, piano) and Daniel (vocals, bass) met in Dublin in 2000, while playing in several different bands - separately and together. After a stint in California, Kathryn moved to London where Daniel was already living and they started playing together again. Recruiting former All About Eve drummer Benji, they have been playing as I Am Not Lefthanded since 2006.
The band have played around the U.K. and Ireland over the past three years, with the likes of Duke Special, Oli’n’Clive, The Fools, The Answering Machine and The Rumble Strips.
Noted for their fiercely independent streak, the band write, record and produce their own songs. They manage themselves, shoot their own idiosyncratic videos and design their own merchandise and website.
I Am Not Lefthanded released their a 7-track mini-album, Yes Means No, with fast-growing UK indie label Letterbox Records in August 2008, garnering radio play on local and independent stations in London, Scotland and throughout Ireland. They’re releasing their follow-up EP, Time To Leave in the fall of 2009.
