Biography

Liverpool, United Kingdom (2006 – present)

goFASTER>> formed in Liverpool through the summer of 2006 to write pop songs about rubbish jobs, daytime television and STDs. Their debut single was released in June 2007; a double a-side 7” featuring ‘She Starts Monday’ and ‘Heather’s Loaded = McCartney’s Blown It’ on This Is Fake DIY Records. Their second single, titled ‘Flammable Leisurewear’ , was released February 2008 on Alcopop and featured sleeve artwork designed by Paul Rafferty of Hot Club de Paris.

The original line-up consisted of Rich Collingwood (Vocals, Guitar), Chris Smith (Vocals, Guitar, Synth), James Murphy (Bass), Ian Flemingham (Drums). In 2008, goFASTER>> announced that Chris Smith was to leave the band and this offered the opportunity to expand the band with the addition of Nathan (Keys, Vocals) and Chris (Guitar).

On 5th March 2008, a full-length album titled ‘Magazine Addictions’ was released on Fabtone Records exclusively in Japan.

goFASTER>> have been championed by Steve Lamacq (Radio 1, BBC 6 Music), John Kennedy (XFM) and The Wombats - who have personally requested them as tour support for both their 2007 UK tours.

They played a great set at The Wombats gig in Sheffield on Thurs, but I have to say they sound wayyy too much like Hot Club De Paris. Is there a connection?
