This is just a list of songs that are perfect for a gray day. Cheers. It's also in no particular order

    The Remedy
Who says that you deserve this
And what kind of god would serve this?
We will cure this dirty old disease
If you've got the poison I've got the remedy

    M+M's
Because when I'm with you there's nothing I wouldn't do
I just want to be your only one
I'm grasping out at straws thinking back to what I saw
That night on the floor when we were all alone

    Hey Julie
Working all day for a mean little guy
With a bad toupee and a soup-stained tie
He's got me running 'round the office
Like a gerbil on a wheel
He can tell me what to do
But he can't tell me what to feel

    Hackensack
And I will wait for you
As long as I need to
And if you ever get back to Hackensack
    I'll be here for you

    Gong Li
Some people say you made it,
I'm not afraid to know, when things are getting low

    Sadie Hawkins Dance
And since I'm rather smart and
    cunning,

  • 25 Songs to Cheer Depression Away

    18 Mar 2006, 20:54 by dreamstorm

Sometimes I feel like moping and getting out of bed...never. These are the songs I play to get myself out of that mood.

    1. Hey Hey

A catchy rhythm, an attention getting chorus, cheerful crooning, snapping, clapping, and some trumpets thrown in for good measure. Let Owen Thomas "Hey Hey!" you into better spirits.

    2. Ugly Day

An upbeat ska track that has enough french horn action to make you believe that although your day might be ugly, "the sun is shining / and every cloud's got a silver lining."

    3. Je Ne Veux Pas Travailler

The ultimate song about malaise, but with a plinky piano beat. Will make you think that although working and eating lunch might be overrated, forgetting and smoking all day isn't that bad.

    4.There's a Girl

An insanely cheerful and innocent '50s-style number.

    5. Sadie Hawkins Dance

Not the most technically proficient or lyrically clever song, but the "Oh oh ohs!" and the general pathetic puppy dog innocence of this song are just so cute.
  • Review: blink-182's "Greatest Hits" CD and DVD.

    11 Nov 2005, 23:28 by Syn_Zero

Being the materialist I am, I pre-ordered blink-182's "Greatest Hits" album on Loserkids last month, which also included the DVD. I received both items this past week and after sitting down and spending some time with each, I've come to a few conclusions about both the CD and the DVD.

First off, I have to say that the album definitely covers most, if not all, of the band's hits over the past few years, ranging from Buddha to blink-182. There are also two tracks that haven't been released before (okay, if you bought Atticus Dragging the Lake, volume 3 then you've heard one of them), Not Now and Another Girl Another Planet, both of which are fairly good songs (the latter being one of my favorites).

The songs are all good quality, and the volume for older songs like M+M's has been adjusted so that they all sound great (I noticed that all of the songs from Cheshire Cat have low volume). Unfortunately they're all just taken straight from the albums they were originally released on, meaning no new studio mixes. …
  • blink-182: "side projects" and Greatest Hits.

    16 Oct 2005, 18:37 by Syn_Zero

Most blink-182 fans should remember that a year ago the band claimed that they were going on hiatus, in order to kick back and spend some time with their families, seeing as the boys of blink-182 are all grown up and are married with children. What's funny is that it seems like none of them are sticking to what they said they would do. All three former members of blink-182 went straight back to work after blink's breakup last year, but with different "side projects".

Tom DeLonge has been working on a band that he named Angels and Airwaves, which features himself, Dave Kennedy (Boxcar Racer), Atom Willard (The Offspring), and Ryan Sinn (The Distillers). Tom claims that A&A will be "the best music produced in decades", which is an extremely large claim to make coming from a guy whose former band defined the genre in the 90s. There's also a film directed by Tom that is rumored to be released alongside A&A's debut album in late January of 2006.
