Biography

blackdaylight is a trip hop soul producer & visual artist from chicago.
his extravagantly minimal style is a syrupy mixture of heavy rhythms & dense, sensual melodies that result in a sound that may be the sonic lovechild of Pharrell Williams & Prefuse 73. mr. daylight has always supported creative commons copyrights & has released music through the european netlabels Stigae Music, & Gargan Records. in 2009 blackdaylight released a collection of live recordings for the Chicago based Moment Sound netlabel & began working with the illustrious Kreislauf Organization in 2012.

as an homage to many of his early musical influences (Portishead, Tricky, Sade, Lovage, the Eurythmics, Esthero, Groove Theory, & Bjork) mr. daylight frequently collaborates with some of the most amazingly talented independent female singer/songwriters of the 21st century. He’s been fortunate enough to work with Eliki, Billi D., Scarlet Monk, AZa ElyaH, Christine Marie, & Arin Maya.
