In a room without windows, overfilled with synthesizers, guitars, records and computers, the creativity of three minds form the band Black Room.

The three Norwegians got together over a common passion for moody pop, electronic sounds and live performances, making their own musical universe. Mixing catchy melodies with influences from more beat-oriented music is their trademark, and the band deliver an engraving live-show with lead singer Ole in front, suitably flanked by synthman Paal and guitarist Anders.

The name Black Room was taken after the house they rehearsed in burned down to the ground, leaving little behind except songs for an album.

@Nordschein The last I heard the guys are in the Studio recording I don't know if that's for a new album or an EP but you can keep up with their news on their Official Facebook, MySpace and Twitter sites (see above links).

@reyn4 they also released Lovesong for an Ugly Girl and Twenty Years Under Water on limited edition numbered Vinyl and a Lorraine EP with songs: Lovesong for an Ugly Girl, Twenty Years Under Water, Sold Out and Echoes. As Lorraine they released quite a few sampler cds which were tiny 3inch cds with the codes LORR01, 02, 03 etc. I have a very rare 5 song album sampler under code LORR05. The songs on this are: Transatlantic flight (3.25), Saved (3.12), Beautiful Thing (3.22) and I Feel It (3.05) I think there was only about 100 of those pressed. Released singles under Lorraine: Heaven EP songs on this: Heaven (4.03) Saved (Demo) (4.15), When I Return To the World (4.01), and Confetti (4.25) and I Feel It cd with songs: I Feel It (3.05), Italian Girlfriend (4.45) I Feel It (Cicada Remix) (7.31) and I Feel It (video).

They became Black Room after a fire destroyed all their gear in a rehearsal studio fire in Bergen, Norway. This news was posted on their official myspace blog.

Poor old Transatlantic Flight didn't make the transition from Lorraine to Black Room and it's such a great pop song too.

What a nice surprise that Lorraine didn't totally disappear, only rename themselves to throw us off.
