The Village…. A place where thoughts are processed, ideas made into reality. A place wherever we want it to be, in our hearts, our thoughts and dreams; a place where BirdPen create. It takes one switch and the process begins. For BirdPen who are Mike Bird and Dave Pen The Village became a place they created a few years ago; a place for them both to channel their artistic thoughts and musical ideas. Within hours they will create and write songs which have led them on to perform in front of thousands of people. From within the recording hub of The Village they wrote, produced and recorded their debut album On Off Safety Danger. An album that has been described as - “An album to haunt the mind permanently”, “A remarkable and exiting debut”, and from Tom Robinson at the BBC, “The best 8 quid I’ve spent all year”. Alongside excellent reviews for their debut album the track Airspace was also selected as itunes France single of the week. From releasing On Off Safety Danger BirdPen have toured the UK and Europe over the last 18months. Their live performances are raw and full of explosive doom groove dark energy with Dave Pens enchanting voice mesmerising the audience.
They have finished recording and are currently mixing their follow up album due for release in early 2012…
