After several years in the music business as singer/songwriter and performer, in January 2005 alexira decided to bring his music to London. After a year and an half there with a band called Semaphore (receiving a good response from both fans and critics) he left and chose to continue with a solo career, feeling the need to sing and play his own songs…

He also has been involved with pure pop (Souze), electronic projects (see Halka7) and post brit-pop ensembles (Orange Cash). Always looking for inspiration and the right music for his battered soul.

To me it’s still quite difficult to describe alexira’s music. It’s not something that you can easily put a tag on, and I really thing this is a good thing.

Listing his “influences” doesn’t work either: some classic British bands from the 60’ like The Beatles, The Who, The Kinks, The Zombies (he considers Odessey and Oracle one of the best album ever), late 70’ and 80’ groups like The Jam, The Smiths, The Cure, Violent Femmes. Then some actual bands and songwriters like Paul Weller, Gravenhurst, Micah P Hinson, Grandaddy, Sparklehorse, Midlake, The Notwist, Radiohead.

I can say that he tries to put together the electronic verve of bands like Notwist with the melancholic verve of Gravenhurst and the attitude and energy of Paul Weller and/or Pete Townshend (expecially live), two of his formative artists.
