Zong of the Week was launched in February 2004 as an experiment in creating and distributing music directly from the recording studio to the listener. The Zong of the Week creative team, led by songwriter-producer Paul Nordquist, delivered a fresh new song to the web every week. The Zong team also launched Kids’ Zong of the Week in May 2004 to create new kid-friendly song downloads.

At the end of 2004, after churning out an impressive catalog of new songs, the Zong of the Week team called it quits and moved on to other projects.
