i stopped reading at "u plebs"

Stridulum shits over this crap called Taiga. I know what u plebs are thinking: 'omg how you can't accept the '''evolution'' of an artist, if an artist makes the same genre music will be boring blablabla' No. This fucking sucks. With her capacity this is puke, with her potential she could produce a huge masterpiece superior to Stridulum. And c'mon this is fucking boring, unspirational and shallow. Maybe some tracks are decent but if i imagine this as an debut record from a new artist i would ignore this shit. 3/10

She aimed high mentioned Rihanna as an inspiration. I'm afraid Zola has still a long way until be able to control the mainstream. Taiga is ok though.

TAIGA: This is what it sounds like when an artist matures, discovers a confidence they perhaps never knew they had, and return, revitalised. (The 405) ♥♥♥♥

The whole quote : "The day the record came out, and the weeks surrounding were some of the darkest. In all honesty, i resented how people thought the record was a bid at commercial success - based on some out-of-context quotes and headlines made to sensationalize my innocent efforts of creativity. [...] it only reinforced my lack of desire to participate in civilization." - Zola Jesus. thank you guys

Judging an artist by his musical preferences is so obnoxious and irrelevant. One can be an artist creating most alternative music in the world and still be a fan of some major mainstream acts only. [4]

GOD. I'm so fucking tired of coming here and seeing all of this shit comments people make on Taiga. Don't like it? then don't. fucking. listen to it. I don't care if it's your opinion or that you have a right to express it. She worked really hard on this album and was extremely anxious when she released it. And now just because your pretentious ass don't like it or think it's "mainstream" doesn't mean it's not good or that she lost her essence. Go ramble elsewhere, her fans don't need to hear it.

On the other hand - Compass really should be on Taiga, but I guess I wouldn't leave out any of the songs instead, even though I am not really a fan of "Dust" or "It's not over".

I think atmospheric suits it better, but who cares? Taiga is a flop, unfortunately. There's some great dance-pop in there.

\\/ what's remotely "ambient" in Taiga?

Madonna brings the electronic music to mainstream with Ray of light, now Zola Jesus will bring to mainstream the Ambient music with Taiga [2] I hope so!

Starting to listen Zola Jesus with Taiga, the production is amazing and her voice are flawless, I'm in love. From what I saw in the comments below, maybe is not her best work, so I can't wait to listen to the previously albums.
