  • Stopped Tagging...

Ack well I was tagging for one day, and I got bored... so bored...

Going through a phase of just random at the moment... just next, next, next until I hit a song I haven't heard for a while...

Had a friend introduce me to Camille. Very cool artist! Check out her song Ta douleur. Very cool, even if I don't understand French.

Because of that I've been doing a bit of The Books and other experimental ambient stuff such as Keine Zahne

Been putting together a "Fire"/"Ice" duo playlist... any suggestions? I did the usual thing - searched by word and ended up with these:

    Fire Starter
    Remote Controller
    Cigarettes Will Kill You
    Where's Your Head At?
    Light My Fire
    Way Away

    Journey Agent
    Underwater Love
    Salt Water Sound
    Ice Ice Baby
  • Science and Math Nerd Super Playlist

I've never been able to figure out why classical music often is stereotyped as "study music." I guess it comes from a general tendency to relagate it to background music or even perhaps those studies that tied Mozart rather dubiously to cognitive abilities.

I admit I do sometimes use classical to study, but usually I find it more distracting. If I'm going to tackle differential equations, I need energy, not complexity, which I already have enough of.

So I have my own bizarre science/math playlist. I'm no longer a science major, but I was for a while and now that I am in economics I still have a bazillion math classes to take.

Some of these songs aren't really about science or math, but whatever, they work for me. A few really are (A la from Laura Veirs, who studied geology), but most, like See-Saw from Aretha Franklin (LOL VSPER model), really aren't. I have different playlists for sciences I've done fieldwork in, like geology and marine biology, so this is just the tip of the nerd iceberg.
