Zdeněk Liška (16 March 1922, Smečno – 13 August 1983, Prague) was a Czech composer who produced a large of number film scores across a prolific career. He was very relevatory in development of experimental electronic music, composed for severel movies from the beginning of his work, that started in the 1950s, thrilled in using unique sound sources.   • Listening now to this disc with the music from short films by Jan Svankmajer really brings back memories from when I first discovered the world of Svankmajer. The music itself, though, is far from being among Liška's finest. Markéta Lazarová and Spalovač Mrtvol is where it's at!
