Not only are they on the top of Japan's weekly top-artist chart on Last.fm, Japanese electro-pop trio Perfume
has also topped the Oricon Weekly Album chart with their latest full-length album, GAME, and it seems that they have finally achieved a large, loyal fan base, since the single "ポリリズム
" became a smash hit last year.
However, at the same time, judging by the harsh criticisms they are now facing in their homeland, apparently there are also a certain amount of "Perfume haters," who may dislike the girls' digitally-edited vocals, techno-oriented sound, lip-synching performances, idol-ish appearance or all of those. And then, I think it's quite funny and interesting that there are seemingly only "Perfume fans" and "Perfume haters" with nothing in between.
