Zero For Life formed in November of 1996 in Aberdeen, MD. A 5 song demo was recorded in 1998 (simply titled ‘Demo 98’). In December of 1999, Casey joined the band, Keith switched to drums, and shortened the name to ZFL.

ZFL recorded and released ‘Looking Back’, an 8 song CD, in the summer of 2000. In 2001 they played the New Jersey Metalfest, alongside bands such as Mastodon, Amorphis, and many others. ZFL also appeared in Metal Maniacs with a great review of ‘Looking Back’.

In 2003 ZFL went into the studio to record ‘Mountains of Misery’, 7 songs that stood ready to take the band to the next level. However, before the CD was ever released, the band came to an abrupt end with the departure of two consecutive bass players (Dave Billings and Paul Guenthner), and singer Kevin Zink.

Fast-forward many years to 2012. The band (Kevin, Keith , Casey, Paul) started jamming together again around March and have written a handful of new songs. A set of 7 songs are written and planned to be recorded in 2013.
