Younger Dryas began with two young lads who were destined to be musical brothers.Their paths collided in this particular universe, in its vast cosmic chaos and energy the inevitable moment happened in their first years of educational preparation ‘kindergarten’. One brother was warmly conceived under the great Himalayas of Nepal and othe other rose from under the even greater mountainous Ben Lomond of Tasmania
The band formed in 2007 and has evolved in format along the journey, settling on its present form in mid 2009, of brothers:
Jesse – (Singer/G’tar/Harmonica/music caretaker – quote, ‘A rum drinking pirate/ sexy Jesus lookalike’).
& Jade – (Drummer/party starting young henchman),
The best friend ‘T’ – (The crazy dancing 6ft4 red Mohican Bass player at the heart of the band).
The experienced veteran/guru ‘Gaz’ – (Slide/Guitar/Banjo, in his indistinguishable years has tamed many of stringed instrument and a fine whiskey/lady, here or there.
For two solid years of touring, learning and growing together musically, this format was Younger Dryas, but in October 2011, from right under their noses, the band discovered an unaware missing piece that adds a defining balance. It’s the presence of the fresh eyed universal sailor – Isaac Chizzle Berry Willams – (Keys/Piano/all round handy man of energy and adventure.)
An uninformed onlooker may well be lead to believe that there is in fact a 6th member of the band and spiritually yes – ‘SamWise’ the hundred plus kilo, only way to describe- one of a kind, perceivably naked dude, is very much apart of Younger Dryas. Having actually already made his onetime debut on stage as a percussionist, this mascot/roadie/6th wheel and all-round good time/vibe provider does his job well.
