Brighton, England (2007 – present)

You Love Her Coz She’s Dead are an music duo formed in 2007 in Brighton, England. Their original lineup was Jay “Rocky” Dead (producer) and Elle Dead (singer). Their music has been compared to bands such as Digitalism, Crystal Castles, The Prodigy, and occasionally Daft Punk. The band signed to French label Kitsuné in 2008, releasing “Wizards” on the Gildas & Masaya - Paris compilation in May 2008 and “Superheroes” on Kitsuné Maison Compilation 6 in October 2008. They released their debut EP Inner City Angst a month later, as well as various remixes, through the same label.

You Love Her Coz She’s Dead appeared playing “Superheroes” on the third series of the television series Skins, following in the footsteps of previously featured artists Crystal Castles and Foals.

The band released their long awaited self-titled debut album in August 2011 via Glasstone Records. It was also released in Japan with bonus tracks on June 20, 2012 via Flake Sounds.

In April 2012 the band released a statement via Facebook that Elle would be leaving the duo. Jay decided to continue YLHCSD and look for a new vocalist. In July, Poppy Dead joined the duo as their new vocalist.

    CaptainGaylord> Something I think it's important to remind you is that Crystal Castles used to be not so loved by the 8bit community during their first years. Oddly enough, their first works were ALL based on Chiptune, and according to your point, Crystal Castles should be considered by now just a shitty group What I'm trying to say is that if something is bad or not it is just a matter of opinion.

    Apart from Superheroes and Dead End, I am COMPLETELY unable to notice any resemblances between Crystal Castles and YLHCSD. Of course, I know most of the people who comment CC is better than YLHCSD has never heard a complete album from them before, therefore I would only be wasting my time discussing with you. But for the ones that have already listened to their début at least once, beware that the similarities between it and (I), (II), (III) or whatever are minimal. If you guys didn't like it, it wasn't because they are a bad clone, it's simply because they aren't like crystal castles.
