Rob Janssen (30) lives in the Netherlands and makes music in his spare time. He can be found on several forums assisting people with synthesis and music production (Harmony Central, Vintagesynth, OCRemix, Clubcharts.nl, and Synthforum.nl).
Starting in 1990 at the age of 12 with a Juno-60, a DR-110 and a Solina, he’s taught himself the basics of synthesis and production. By trading the synthesizer each year for a newer, more expensive model, he’s gone through several models and learned their strengths and weaknesses, eventually going from a single machine into a full studio.
Together with Brennan Heart he made a demo and got a record contract at Combined Forces in 2000. However, any solo releases were postponed and eventually cancelled due to college, and the tracks on the demo were never officially released.
After the split-up Brennan Heart continued work with Dj Thera under the Brennan & Heart moniker. There are no current collaborations going on except for a recent composition of a soundtrack for a short movie together with Cinnamon Candy.
His current setup consists of Ableton Live 7, Komplete 5 and the D16 Group plugins, as well as several hardware synthesizers.
