Yasir & Jawad are a Pushto folk-rock duo from Peshawar, Pakistan.

Yasir Khan is a self-learned Rabab and guitar player. He has been playing Rabab for the last 7 years. In the beginning he use to play traditional Pushto music but his main influence was Psychedelic and Hard rock. His favorite bands are Pink Floyd, Guns N’ Roses, REM, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Metallica. His exposure to a variety of rock bands gives his Rabab music a unique touch.

Jawad Iqbal is a self-learned guitar (rhythm) player. He is also a backing-vocalist and song writer. He is more into Rock and Country music. His influences are Buffalo Springfield, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Dave Matthew Band, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young and Bob Dylan.

Another person, Wali Khan Aurakzai, who would never get serious, gifted with a soulful voice and is a lead vocalist, joined the band in 2010. His presence is a boundless animation of the band. He accompanied in 2010 and associated as a lead Vocalist. His thorough knowledge of Pushto music and poetry gives a nice flavor to the lyrics of band’s original compositions.
