I had both in cassette tapes during those days when you wouldn’t feel so ancient and out of place when you bought cassette tapes.
See, this was a part of the music of my teenage pre-iPod years. I was quite a fan, if I even was one. A couple of my first email addresses, IRC nicks, lomohome username were all taken from the lyrics of freestyle analog. I remember Butterfly Carnival being the anthem of 1999 when Marc Abaya still was the frontman and Raymund Marasigan was not yet a Robert Smith clone.
Imagine my excitement when I saw the dark blue, Arnold Arre-illustrated cover of their SONY BMG 2-in-1 re-issue, which had both albums in it, a couple of days ago. 34 songs for 285 pesos… not bad, yeah?
It was some sort of trip, listening to those songs after quite some time. …
