Biography

Anton Maiden may not be with us anymore, but his spirit lives on and he has now some followers. This particular tribute has nothing to do with the late Anton musically, and the parallel can only be done with “Internet DIY”, as the two authors of these cover songs have never met in real life, but worked together by swapping files via the Net until the result was satisfactory enough. All the file were then made available at this location for everyone to download for free. This little piece is not made to generate profit, but as a real tribute by two fans (Xav being also the main administrator of the Iron Maiden France Forum) who wanted to share their passion for Maiden, along with their musical talent, with the rest of the world.

Xav and Dani, the two Frenchmen who are at the only musicians of this original tribute – guitars and vocals, respectively – have also used drum and bass files found on the Net for some of their renditions of Maiden songs, namely ‘Flight Of Icarus’, ‘Aces High’ (probably the weakest track, although still pretty good), ‘2 Minutes To Midnight’, ‘The Prisoner’ (which has an interesting ending à la ‘Nodding Donkey Blues’), and the so-called “electric version” of ‘Can I play With Madness’. All the other songs have been played in an “acoustic” manner, with a special mention to ‘Blood Brothers’, ‘Infinite Dreams’ (with a little bit of ‘Dance Of Death’ at the end), and ‘When Two Worlds Collide’. Even the rendition of Dave and Adrian’s solo during the 1986 Somewhere On Tour, aptly renamed ‘Walking With Liryo’ after the guitar player’s nickname, is pretty excellent.
