Wuthering Heights is a Danish heavy metal band with a somewhat eclectic musical style, from folk to progressive power metal. The group formed in 1989 under the name Angelica. After few name changes, they finally chose to call themselves Wuthering Heights and released “Within” in 1999. They followed this up with “To Travel For Evermore” in 2002 and “Far From the Madding Crowd” in 2004, which has received some critical acclaim amid the underground power metal and folk metal communities.

They released their latest album “The Shadow Cabinet” in 2006.

Their fifth studio album, “Salt”, is slated to be released sometime in 2009.

So far, IMnsHO, tSC > FFtMC > TTF > W. (Though "Hunter in the Dark" of of Within is one of my favorite WH songs). I hope that this better-each-time trend continues with Salt (if Salt ever comes out, and doesn't stall for years like Wintersun's Time.)

This is why I love last.fm. I wouldn't even have known these guys existed if they hadn't kept coming up as "similar artists" and "recommended artists" (and I admit, the name didn't really speak to me, so it took seeing them come up repeatedly before I got around to checking them out.) How come their older albums aren't on iTunes? I'm ordering the "Within" CD this weekend.
