"This Land Is Your Land" is one of the United States' most famous folk songs. Its lyrics were written by Woody Guthrie in 1940 on a traditional melody, possibly a hymn. The first known professionally printed publication was in 1956 by Ludlow Music. In 2002, it was one of 50 recordings chosen that year by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry

This is the original. What a great contribution to the treasury of great songs! The reason he wrote this tune is inspiring. I definitely don't mind Irving Berlin's song, though. This song is rather legendary though. It was picked up by so many even before it was officially recorded.

This isn't Woody Guthrie singing it, at all. I don't mind the cover but annoyingly mislabelled.

Land belongs to no person, in reality. It is land, sooner or later it rises , or falls, or erodes away. People delude themselves re owning land............. in the long term it belongs to nature
