WireRose’s unlikely initial gestation from within a bedroom closet and a doctors office waiting room are just the beginning of this band’s collective journey from conception to realization. The story of the formation of this group of musicians is as interesting as the rock-indie sound itself, music that continues to morph into a collaborative, soul-searching effort that each musician takes seriously, and personally. The beauty of this band is that its members just continue to do what they do best, and the momentum of the band’s continuing evolution carries them along.

In 2007, Dusty Griffith began scrupulously writing down the plethora of lyrics and melodies that suddenly began flooding his brain, picking out the songs on his only instrument, a recently gifted Gibson acoustic guitar, and recording rudimentary guitar and vocal tracks to his Mac in the closet his musical efforts were banished to in his then current home. Having not constructively played the guitar since lessons at age 14, and having never composed a song or written a single lyric in his lifetime, the point and direction of all the words and melodies were just a strange and unformed mission in mind. The new songwriter’s intention to find a singer and guitarist to perform his music met with an unplanned encounter with lead-guitarist Chris Carson via a “chance” meeting with Carson’s wife in a doctor’s office waiting room in May 2008. This meeting was just the beginning of a series of events that have funneled a strange, otherworldly momentum for the songwriter’s efforts.
