Biography

WILT are at least four bands:

1) A Blackened Crust Grind band from Seattle Washington. http://wilt.bandcamp.com/

2) An American dark ambient project that has recorded and released several different records under the same name. They describe their sound as psychedelic drone folk noise. http://wilt314.bandcamp.com

3) An indie rock band from Ireland that released two albums, “Bastinado” (2000) and “My Medicine” (2002), on the Mushroom label in 2000. As Q magazine writes, they “recall the poppier moments of the young R.E.M… one part Peter Buck, three parts Jimmy Eat World.”

4) An atmospheric black metal band from Winnipeg, Canada. http://wiltmanitoba.bandcamp.com/

That description sounds great, to me. Hilarious that they're the 3rd choice behind a blackened crust band now.

My Medicine from the Irish Wilt was superb. Didn't leave my CD player at any point in 2002, and still gets a regular airing.

Wilt were great, but Kerbdog were even better! Great stuff indeed.

The My Medicene album was and is amazing. Such a shame they packed it in. I remember seeing them live in a local tiny venue what must be 8 years ago now... hair was on end for an hour =D.

I only know the Irish band and they're pretty cool! Don't know anything about any other Wilt, though...

I'm really looking forward to Last.fm developing an artist disambiguation function. Damn if I don't hate hearing Take Me Home on group radio. Especially because every time I do, it counts as a damn play that brings their tracks higher on the top tracks listings. Piss me off.
