  • Procrastinating Again: A Music Quiz Thing

    11 Jun 2010, 09:04 by hifromneptune

Every so often, I have something to do and I don't want to do it. Have run out of tv shows to watch, don't want to leave computer to read, so my option for procrastinating: this! Yay. :-)

    1. What's your favorite song by 15?
Jason Mraz - First off, The Remedy (I Won't Worry) (I remember loving it as a kid), but recently I'm Yours because it's so damn sweet. You can't fight that!

    2. How did you get into 20?
John Hiatt - either by getting the CD out from the library or through last.fm, I forget which. Doesn't matter: the man is brilliant.

    3. Who is your favorite member in 1?
Gordon Lightfoot - and the winner is... Well, him. :-)

    4. What’s your favorite lyric bit by 29?
Christina Aguilera - I don't want to stop listening to Hans Zimmer so I can refresh my memory! Ummmm... The obvious: "You're beautiful, in every single way."

    5. What's your favorite album from 10?
U2 - I am definitely not enough of a fan to answer this. Maybe The Joshua Tree?

    7. Do you own any merchandise from 3?
  • Hey, it's an inexplicably long survey!

    The Ultimate Music Survey

Tadaa! Motivation: too much study, both already done and still to do. *headdesk*

Let’s start with the good stuff.

What is your favorite genre of music?
Okay. I'm consciously squashing the 'impossible question' response... What about 'singer-songwriter'? Yes?

    Why?
Because it's open enough (but accurate if you go by last.fm tags), and because I love the idea of music as self-expression.

    Name your favorite band(s).
Runrig, because of my dad. Lots of power and positivity, lots of guitar, and just a little bit of almost-preachy social commentary. All good stuff. :-)

    What is your favorite album?
Waiting For You, by Gordon Lightfoot, eternally, for silly emotional reasons. I love the bluesy feel, the crispness, the mellow, melancholy guitar and his gorgeous husky voice. The - is it a triangle? - the tinkly thing in Ring Them Bells, too - it gives me shivers.

    Name your favorite song(s).
Sticking to those available on last.fm:
    1. William Fitzsimmons' - Passion Play
  • top fifty.

    1. How did you get into 29? (The Beatles)
I really don't remember, actually.. I think I just saw the commercial for their greatest hits Cd so many times and decided to give it a listen. I'm glad I did. I love them. That is a pretty lame reason, though.. I mean, they're one of the most successful bands of all time...

    2. What was the first song you ever heard by 23? (Mat Kearney)
I do believe it was Nothing Left To Lose. I remember listening to it on the bus to Galveston with Belles... forever ago.

    3. What’s your favourite lyric by 22? (Dave Matthews Band)
I'm not sure.. I'd have to think about that for a really really really long time....

    4. What is your favourite album by 49? (Keane)
Hopes and Fears it's the only one I own, actually. but I'm so in love with it.

    5. How many albums by 13 do you own? (Jamie Cullum)
    I have three of them.

    6. What is your favourite song by 50? (Nickel Creek)
When You Come Back Down I reallllllyyyy like it :]

    7. Is there a song by 40 that makes you sad? (Dave Matthews)
  • Danke William. Danke Laura.

Mi., 18. Nov. – William Fitzsimmons, Laura Jansen
