Curtis did a version of this but it isn't as nice as the original...... True for most covers!

Very well said Beatnik24 regarding "one-hit-wonder". William DeVaughn had another top ten song and two more charted songs. My poor choice of words. Thank you. I learned to give my description a second look thank's to you. I appreciate that!

It annoys me that people think that is Curtis Mayfield singing this song, but it probably annoy me more that people use the term "one-hit-wonder"... it's essentially saying, I'm so much of a lamestreamer that I'll only acknowledge this one commercial breakthrough track and will ignore the entire body of music this artist has produced.

Talk about a "One Hit Wonder" This was a breath of fresh air. William DeVaughn in 1974. It was a Million Seller & a #1 Soul/R&B Hit. So smooth with a great message.
