The current line up is Dave Zovko - lead vocals and guitar; Ben Henricksen - guitar and backing vocals; David Walsh - bass guitar and Rachael Beaven - drums and backing vocals.
David Zovko was recruited in 2008 and the band sound changed, taking on a more alternative rock voice. David has a mixed French/Irish background and brings a new slant to the party. Gigging with Zovko started in April 2009 with a baptism of fire at in the Cambridge band competition. Two tracks have been recorded at the excellent Half Ton Studios engineered by Buggs, they plan to record a few more in Nov 09 to keep up with the fans demand.
Wild Hope have supported Cherry Ghost amongst others and garnered the following reviews:
“they have both a powerful live sound and some memorable songs … and Ben Henricksen’s abrasive electric guitar playing, which reminds me slightly of Bernard Butler in his Suede days” Sound On Sound magazine
“Highlights for me were the bonus live tracks, with some nice slide sounds and thoughtful plucking over lovely, dreamy soundscapes, and not a rock cliché in sight.” Chris Marlings - Repeat Fanzine
“The final band of the evening respectively refused to be overshadowed by the popularity of previous band Queen and Two Jacks, and performed under the moniker Wild Hope. Although the most senior on a bill of questionably young bands, Wild Hope showed their undoubted ability to hold the attention of a crowd left dizzy from the previous performance, and change the venue’s atmosphere accordingly.
