Mar 24 Nov – Muse, Biffy Clyro

  • On my MP3 player

    23 Nov 2009, 11:39 by feefafo

Seeing as I've just been on a downloading spree of random artists, I thought I'd make a little list of all of the stuff on my MP3 player right now. The actual thing is falling apart - I'm asking for an iPod this Christmas.

Bloc Party - Only two songs from them that I bought ages ago.
Blur - Downloaded these the other night.
Brain Damage - One free last.fm download. Oh yeah.
Chromeo - I bought their Fancy Footwork a while ago, and I still listen to a few of the tracks when I feel like it.
Danny Elfman - Through my obsession with Oingo Boingo, I've started listening to Danny's soundtracks. I've got stuff from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Taking Woodstock, The Nightmare Before Christmas and a few other random tracks.
Devo - Of course. I don't have many of their songs, but I got a few new ones the other night. I just heard PlayWiggly World for the first time yesterday, and I just had to get it right away.
Dracula Biscuits - Last.fm free downloads, again. ^,____,^
Elastica - After reading about them on Mookychick, I felt like downloading some of their stuff. It's all awesome, but then I always think I've got Wire on my MP3 player.
Green Day - No, not their new stuff. Two songs I quite like - Longview and a live version of Minority.
Kate Bush - Only a few tracks, but really epic ones. I put on some tracks from Aerial that I remember listening to when my dad bought the album. Also, I had to put on PlayWuthering Heights.
Kraftwerk - Thanks to a particular user here putting the video of PlayPocket Calculator in a group discussion, I've found that I quite like them. I've only got that and another track, though. I need to try and listen to more of their stuff.
Lemon Demon - I don't listen to them as much now, but I still have a few songs.
Logan Whitehurst & the Junior Science Club - Last.fm free downloads...but very good ones.
Magazine - I only have PlayThe Great Beautician in the Sky, but it's awesome.
Messer Chups - Awesome free downloads.
    Naughty Zombies - Free downloads.
Oingo Boingo - Ah hah hah hah hah! My favourites. You can probably tell that Boingo dominates my library. I've got over 100 OB tracks on my MP3 player right now. A lot of them are live tracks - the best ones, obviously.
Polysics - From a while back. I bought about three of their albums ages ago.
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Downloaded a few the other night. I think I need to listen to more.
Sparks - I saw Kimono My House in a music store a week ago for £5 and had to get it straight away. It was an awesome buy.
Talking Heads - Two songs I bought a while back.
The B-52's - Bought their self-titled album at the same time I bought the Sparks album. Also a fiver, also awesome.
The CamPanulas - Free downloads. Good free downloads.
The Cure - Another band I need to listen to more. I only have two of their songs.
The Hives - Two songs I bought a while back.
The Specials - I bought one of their albums a while back, but I've gone off ska slightly and I've only got a few songs.
The Sway - Thanks to Audiosurf for introducing me, thanks to last.fm for the downloads.
The Undertones - I put Teenage Kicks on my MP3 player because I think our band are going to be playing this for the school talent show. Also, it's a cool song.
The Waitresses - I only have a few songs because I can't download more. I'll be playing PlayChristmas Wrapping a lot soon...
The White Stripes - Songs I got ages ago, but still listen to now and again.
Tom Tom Club - Remember Vodaphone's Free Music Friday? I got Wordy Rappinghood on impulse and it's still pretty good.
Vampire Weekend - I got their album for Christmas last year. It's neat.
Vernian Process - Free downloads galore!
Wall of Voodoo - A few good tracks.
Weezer - Got some songs a while ago, but I've been listening to them again after playing them too much before. I made myself a little sick of their music, but I'm okay now.
Weird Al Yankovic - Of course, I've got the Devo and Oingo Boingo style parody songs. ^,_____,O
XTC - I figured it was about time I got their songs on my MP3 player.

    I've got about 340 tracks...I need more.
  • If my life was a movie, what soundtrack would it have?

    22 Nov 2009, 17:45 by Harry_01

    Opening Credits
Ennio Morricone - The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
    HELL YEAH!!! This is EPIC!

    Waking Up
    Pink Floyd - High Hopes
Great song for waking up and then, when David Gilmour's guitar solo kicks in... THIS must be a great day! =)

    First Day At College
Bob Dylan - 4th Time Around
Yeah the other three times I was visiting the young and attractive female professor, if you know what I mean, harrharr.

    Falling In Love
Joshua Radin - What If You
Really beautiful song. It's a break-up song though. Maybe she's falling in love with me but I'm not with her.
    Like he sings:

    "So, for tonight
    I'll stay here with you
    Yes, for tonight
    I'll lay here with you

    But when the sun
    Hits your eyes
    Through your window
There'll be nothing you can do"

    I'm such a bad guy! :D

    Losing Virginity
    Jack Johnson - Cocoon
She is losing virginity and I'm the one who breaks her cocoon. Oh what a metaphor! ;)

    Fighting
    Eddie Vedder - Long Nights
I'll not use "fight" as the common term of "combat", more like "struggle". Maybe I'm struggling with not knowing who I am, where I belong, etc.

    Breaking Up
    Blackfield - Open Mind
Is it that I'm too open minded that she breaks up with me?!

    Prom
    Robbie Williams - Feel
Wow, this is a beautiful song! I could imagine dancing with a gorgeous girl to this song.

    Life
    The xx - Fantasy
Erm, my life is just a fantasy?

    Depression
Bright Eyes - The Movement Of A Hand
Maybe I'm depressed 'cause I couldn't understand the movement of a hand.

    Driving
Death Cab for Cutie - Bixby Canyon Bridge
I'm listening to this song while driving on an early winter's day.

    Partying
    The Doors - Soul Kitchen
Not the party song that I had expected, but yeah, nice though.

    Happy Dance
    Pink Floyd - Bike
Yeah, I'd love to dance to this song! It'd be ridiculous and funny.

    You & Friends
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Red House
Me & friends making a jam session and listening to this song to get inspired by.

    Betrayal
Tenacious D - Fuck Her Gently
I'm so sorry honey! It was just that girl I've seen on the streets, you know, she was so drop-dead gorgeous and I, I just couldn't resist.

    Regretting
Jack Johnson - Times Like These
I miss times like these, where everything was so perfect and these times were only with you. So please, don't leave me!

    Long Night Alone
    Jack Johnson - Enemy
You might think I'm your enemy, but that don't make you mine.

    Flashback
Bright Eyes - Arc of Time (Time Code)
Would fit nicely as a flashback song.

    Getting Back Together
Coldplay - Swallowed By The Sea
Cute and tearful reunion. Very moving.

    Wedding
    Bon Iver - Flume
GREAT! I love it. Memo to myself: This song should be played on my wedding.

    Honeymoon
Yann Tiersen - Comptine d'un Autre Été L'Après Midi
    Beautiful!

    Birth of Child
    Iron & Wine - Carousel
Nice song for one of the best moments that life offers: The birth of a child.

    Losing Someone Dear
Weezer - The Damage In Your Heart
    Man, it fits so perfectly.

    Final Battle
    E.S. Posthumus - Ebla
An epic battle this will be.

    Death
    Ólafur Arnalds - Fok
I didn't expect that Ólafur Arnalds would be the last thing I'd hear.
I'm sure I'll die peacefully and with a happy smile after listening to Fok.

    Funeral
Mono - Pure As Snow (Trails Of The Winter Storm)
Really beautiful. The funeral will be very moving.

    Final Credits
    Ludovico Einaudi - Yerevan II
Sad ending credits. Could imagine half of the people are crying while leaving the theatres.

I'm a bit disappointed that there was no Muse, Radiohead or Jeff Buckley.

So here's how you do it:
    - Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.)
    - Put it on shuffle
    - Press play
    - For every question, type the song that's playing
    - When you go to a new question, press the next button
    - No cheating!
