We Shot the Moon, formerly known as The Honor Roll, is a band from San Diego, California featuring Jonathan Jones the singer of Waking Ashland, in addition to Dan Koch, and Joe Greenetz both from the band Sherwood.

The band was formed when Jonathan Jones’ band, Waking Ashland, broke up. On July 21, 2007, the band put up 4 demos on their MySpace page, http://www.myspace.com/weshotthemoon.

In August 2007, they changed their name from The Honor Roll to We Shot the Moon and moved the songs to a new MySpace page, whose title reflected the new band name; they have kept the old MySpace page online but have replaced most of the content with an image linking to their new page.

They will be entering the studio on August 22, 2007, to record a full-length album.
We Shot the Moon will embark on a U.S. Tour at the end of September and will go through mid November when they will then follow that with a tour in Japan.

On April 1st, 2008 they released their full length album, Fear and Love, in the U.S. It was an immediate success upon its release. The album is available for purchase on April 29, 2008.

The band no longer has Dan Koch and Joe Greenetz. The permanent lineup consists of Jonathan Jones on Keyboards and Vocals, Adam Lovell on bass, Trevor Faris on drums, and Jason De La Torre on guitar.
