Vromb (recording alias for Hugo Girard, real name Mario Girard) is an electronic music act from Montreal (Quebec) Canada. Vromb has been international active since early 1990’s.

In the independent underground electronic music scene Vromb has a solid reputation. Vromb creates a unique sound consisting of industrial music, minimal techno rhythms, dense music layers and sci-fi sounds. It sometimes also includes the voices of his fictional character, Professeur Heurel Gaudot.

Vromb’s solid reputation as a unique artist is legendary amongst fans of minimal electro rhythms. Based in Montréal (Québec) Vromb’s Hugo Girard is nonetheless better known in Europe and in the United States where his rare concerts draw crowds of admirers from several hundred miles around. Having released only but a few discs in his whole ten years and over career’s span - a tendency he is currently working on reversing - his many followers eagerly await each release. With a style on his own created by analog synthesizers and combining strong electronic rhythms and deep atmospheres, Girard’s project may be one of the most original acts in the North American electronic music scene.

The uniqueness of Vromb can be fully experienced during his rare live appearances. In fact, while electronic musicians will usually perform with a laptop, Vromb is performing with analog synthesizers.
