There are several projects with name “Vladimir”

1) Vladimir play a mix of and akin to Mogwai, Sparklehorse or Mercury Rev. Their specific play with dynamics and melancholy render the standard laws of rock invalid. Vladimir taunt the listener with slow pieces only to surprise them with sudden full-blooded ferocity and unexpected turns; complete with trumpet.

This is their MySpace. You can download the albums for free at the official vladimir website or listen to the track PlayFavoured

2)Vladimir is an artist born in Moldova, that now activates in US - he has this solo project (genre: acoutic guitar with spanish and oriental elements)

MySpace address: http://www.myspace.com/seevladimir

3) Doom/gothic metal band from Italy (Milano)
Discography:
- 1995 - Lost In My Tears (demo)
- 1997 - Promo 1997 (demo)
- 1997 - Mother (single)

Vladimir reminds me a bit of Sigur Rós, with a tiny whiff of Radiohead. But they have such an own sound at the same time, that actually comparing them to anything else is a bit useless. Yes, they have a similar feel to their music, but made in a unique and very own way. After all those years (I know them from their first E.P.) they still manage to impress and inspire me.

NOT like Coldplay @ ALL!! rrrauwer, ...better. I get really bored with people who compare bands with Coldplay. Please try to be more specific in what kind of sound you recognise/ seem familiar with/ or just like in the band. And take a day off sometime to broaden your musical taste, ...

Toen live gezien bij hun cd-presentatie in Utrecht. Geinige verrassing.
