A indie powerpop music group originally formed in Vancouver, Canada. The band recorded two albums but released only their first album before separating.

The original line up of Vinyl Sun had been performing together on the Vancouver club scene for 5 years before recording their debut album ‘Life Inside Lucy’ at Yaletown Studio in Vancouver of which the members of ‘Vinyl Sun’ were also co-owners in partnership with Al Vermue and Mark LeCorre. The album was meticulously recorded and edited over a period of 9 months when studio time was available and over several blocked out sessions.

‘Life Inside Lucy’ held a diverse culture of influences with stand out tracks in the form of ‘Angel’, ‘Love’, ‘Denied’, ‘Times On My Side’, ‘Love Seems To Hate You’, and ‘More Than Anything’. It drew heavily on influences from a variety of sources as diverse as Trent Reznor, Prince, The Beatles, Jellyfish, Stone Temple Pilots, John Lennon, Lenny Kravitz and Paul McCartney & Wings.

The album title “Life Inside Lucy’ was a loose reference to the ‘Lucy’ in The Beatle’s song ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. This particular Beatle song has often been suggested to be a coded reference to LSD as John Lennon’s visual lyrics created a surreal and imaginative world for its listener.
